Garbage Schedule:
Garbage collection is every Monday (except on Holiday Schedule) for household trash, recycling, and yard waste. We ask that your roll-out container and recycling bin be placed at the curb no sooner than the night before and removed from the curb by Monday evening.
Here are some things to remember when putting your trash out for pick up.
There are three different types of trucks in town until 5:00 p.m. that pick up regular household trash, the recycling and the yard waste so when setting your trash out for pickup, please place your rollout container apart from your recycling bin.
Yard Waste: includes brush, tree limbs no longer than 3 ft., and bagged leaves or grass clippings in clear bags. If using dark bag, leave them untied so contents can be verified. You can also leave out small furniture, mattresses, BBQ grills, carpet and large moving boxes in excess of 3 ft. which have been broken down.
Recycling: includes glass, newspaper, magazines, broken down cardboard boxes less than 3 ft., plastic and metal cans. No plastic pots, plastic bags, disposable diapers, Tupperware items, Styrofoam or pizza boxes please!
White goods: includes larger appliances such as refrigerators, stoves, or washing machines must be scheduled for pickup. Call Town Hall at 704-889-2291 by 3:00 p.m. the Friday before pickup.
Household hazardous waste (HHW) such as tires, oil, paint cans, batteries and empty propane tanks from gas grills can be dropped off at the Foxhole Recycling Center located at 17131 Lancaster Hwy.
Construction debris: including roofing, masonry and lumber must be removed by contractor as it will NOT be picked up.

Q: I'm new to Pineville. How do I establish services?
A: Welcome! Pineville offers a variety of services including it's own Telephone and Electric companies. You may call Pineville Telephone and Electric at the numbers above or stop in at 118 College Street to set up a new account. Pineville does not have it's own water department so you will need to contact Charlotte-Mecklenburg Utilities Dept. (CMUD) and in some places, Carolina Water, at the numbers above.
Q: What about trash services?
A: If you live within the town limits, you may call Town Hall and we will arrange to have services started for you. Each resident should have one rollout container and one recycling bin for trash pick-up each Monday. Some residents may have a Pineville address but are not technically within the town limits but part of unincorporated Mecklenburg County. You will need to contact a hauler of your choice to contract separately with them for trash services.
Q: What schools are in the area?
A: The Charlotte-Mecklenburg School System offers Pineville Elementary for grades K-5, Quail Hollow for grades 6-8, and South Mecklenburg for grades 9-12. Additional options may be available through the School Choice Program. Contact Charlotte-Mecklenburg School System at 704-343-6220 for details.
Q: Can I pay my Pineville electric or phone bill with a credit card?
A: In addition to cash and money orders, we now accept Visa and MasterCard in person or over the phone to pay your phone bill, electric bill or both! And you now have the option of paying your bill(s) online right here on our website.
Q: What else can you tell me about Pineville?
A: We're a small town with big ideas! Pineville's population is just over 6,000 people and we're home to a variety of restaurants to suit even the most discriminating tastes. We're also known for our shopping. Take a casual stroll down Main Street to browse through our many antique shops for that perfect find or vist the Carolina Place Mall for all the latest trends and fashions. If it's furniture you want, we have that, too, along with two beautiful parks and our Belle Johnston Community Center offering a variety of programs to satisfy all of your recreational needs. Churches, congregations, and houses of worship for all faiths can be found in the Pineville area as well as a variety of medical facilities including the Carolinas Medical Center at Pineville. At only about 5 1/2 square miles, we're small but we have it all.
